CHICAGO WED. NIGHT DRINK AND DRAW

First off, I need you guys to help us name our drawing night. We can't think of shit, and it's just not cool with out a name. I mean, with out some catchy tagline, i barely want to show up. So, help us, seriously.

Anyway, not much to say about tonights sketches. We discussed a few topics, I thru out Fairy Tales and it was on! This was a great topic, and we had record number of people there tonight (12 I think). Greg Titus damn near did a cover. Mike Norton did 3 that I loved. they were like full on scenes. The best thing was, the topic was broad enough to allow everyone to draw something different.

I won't talk about the mistakes, or the ideas tonight. That's not what the night is about for me. To me, it's about the pure sketch. Trying not to erase, just letting my hand do something. The first few drawing nights i tried to do great pieces, and ended up with shit. Now, I just run my mouth and doodle and I am pleased at the end. I like drawing ideas for idea sake. Not worrying if I did a good finish. Tonight was fun, and hopefully the pieces reflect that.

Amazing sketches as always Skottie! As for a name, I'll have to get back to you on that one. My brain doesn't work well this late at night.

great ideas, btw.

Hey man, these look great! These do reflect creative energy. Sometimes detail can rob your drawing of the soul you were originally attracted to. I enjoy these as finished since they communicate well the ideas you are talking about.

Good stuff!

Great work as always. I think these "improv" jams (Chicago's and the Orig Drink and Draw) are really cool.

So as for a name, how about "The D.U.I.* Sessions"?

(*Drawing Under the Influence)

Or some derivative of that. Any ways, look forward to seeing more work.

Very cool sketches Scottie. I really like the Pinocchio.

I'm still in the process of waking up so all I can think of is Pub Pencil Night.

I haven't comment here at all yet, but i view your blog/site often. You've got skittles for sure!
i would name your wed. night drink and draw, Sasporilla doodles or go old school Snick and call it, The Midnight Society. Any who there my two cents, spend them how ever you want.

Okay Skottie, long time first time. Here's my suggestion...
the "Shotglass Sketchers Syndicate" Try saying that after a few shots five time fast whilst trying to focus as you draw.
Bottums up!!!

Hey Skottie, just discovered your blog today, wonderful stuff! I love the fairy tale theme. As for a name, what's wrong with "Wednesday night drink and draw"? That's catchy! It's better than "Let's get together and doodle night." Something like that would suck. See ya!

How about "artist fight club/night".
Hunchback looks ok, but Pinochio oddly. I don't like the second sketch. :P

PS: in Polish that means: "nocna walka artystow" or "klub walki artystow"
