Divided We Stand Preview

We're getting closer to the release date of my X-Men Divided We Stand story so I thought I would give you all a little peek.

I really enjoy writing.  Not only because it makes drawing the stories so much easier, but it's also just fun stepping outside of my comfort zone.  I think that writing gives me a chance tell a kind of story that people may not expect from me... but who knows.  I will be doing more it so hopefully each of these short stories will help me to learn a little more about the craft.
So, you can see a few photos of me working on the pencils and then a little progression on the inks and colors of one piece.

There is also a short interview with me and the other writers of the first issue over at Marvel.

Dude, Skottie, your art is beautiful. And I can really see that you love Anole. That makes me so happy, as he's one of my favorite characters ever. I'm so happy you're the writer and penciler for this story. Thank you so much for doing this. Its just too bad you couldnt write Vic for the whole issue!

Keep up the awesome work, man!

I was bummed when I read that the new x-men were going to have a new roster, I really liked your run, and the characters you highlighted.

Hey, Skottie!

I'm just getting back into doing full page art after a 2 year hiatus and man...it's inspiring to see your progressions like this. Reminds me of the old days of LedHeavy when it was good....

Personally speaking It's about #%$^&@ing time you get recognized as being more than a 'style'. Your older work is great, but this new stuff, man...it blows my mind. It's made me pick up some watercolors and see what I can bust out. I can't wait to read your writing.

Always the best,
-Damion Waldbrunn a.k.a. D3Xownz

When I started reading comics again, I thought your art in Children of X-men was fantastic. Good to see you're developing the style, it looks even better now. Keep it up!

What sort of blue pencil do you use? Beautiful stuff!! I've been a fan since your New Warriors work! Your stuff is so kablooey and plastic- and your line qualities are only outshined by your colors- Keep up the great work!!!

ps. if you're looking to get outta Chicago, try Asheville, NC- it's the new San Francisco- with history and rep to spare!!
