Bird Man Wizard

On the corner of Western and Lawrence in Chicago, there has always been a man that stood in front of Walgreens covered in pigeons.   I don't mean a few, I mean 60 fucking pigeons covered his entire body.  The guy was disgusting, and freaky, and awesome and inspiring all in one.  He died recently, who knows why, but he's gone.  Keeping in line with my urban fantasy theme, I used him as a starting point for what my Wizard would look like if the world had wizards.  It's quick, and has a lot of potential to be something more.  I think I'll keep building on this design over the next week and see what I can come up with.

Dark Alley-Deadpool Cover Auction

I'm still using my warm ups to get an idea for a new story and I'm getting closer.  I love fantasy stories as most of you probably know and I've been thinking how to approach my own.  I want to combine the gritty urban world that I'm used to living in and add the elements of the "wooded" fantasy stories that are as old as time.  When I started doodling today I just got this image of a giant troll like creature in an alley and the kid finding that.  It's quick, and it's not really thought out but it documents the thoughts that I had on the subject and will be a great foundation to build on when moving forward.  It took about 20 minutes, brush, ink and photoshop.

And for those of you that have been keeping up with artwork for sale you'll know that I put a new auction up yesterday.  Cable & Deadpool #44 cover featuring everyone's favorite hairy X-Man.
