Holding off

I'm going to hold off on finishing up Bernard until next week. I have them done, I just figured I'd let the holidays pass and when everyone is back at their computers we'll see how this things ends.

Thanks everyone. As a New Year's treat, I'll give you a a quick peek at the new daily that will be starting next month. This will be a ongoing story told one panel at a time, daily. It's going to be a fun experiment and we'll see where the story goes thru out the year.

The Adventures of Bernard the World Destroyer 18

Everyone has a boss, even World Destroyers.

And with that, I'm going to leave you hanging until Monday and the Holidays have passed us by. Don't worry, I have them done already and Bernard will be wrapping up next week. It's been a great ride this month and I have say that I'm surprised I made it every single week as promised. As most of you who have been following my blog for the last 4 years know, I'm not great with keeping up with my ideas sometimes. This one worked so we'll pat ourselves on the back and wish you all a happy holiday. See ya Monday.

The Adventures of Bernard the World Destroyer 13

Ok, so I like to joke on peoples hair. Take it easy.

But seriously, I don't understand this new, hipster, metrosexual, comb forward like you're in the Goo Goo dolls hair style that is floating around. It really is fairly tragic and I will be there to see you hate yourself in the future for having it.

Don't worry, I went thru enough of these trendy hairstyles to know.

IGN.COM Top 100 Covers of 2009

This year has been incredible in so many ways. We got our beautiful Saint Bernard, Emma. The wonderful Wizard of Oz Hardcover has been on The New York Times Best Sellers List for 12 weeks and shows no signs of slowing down. I'm still working on the funnest project I've ever been on, the Oz adaptions. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, a month ago yesterday my son, Baxter was born. Well, IGN.Com has added another thing to my "this is a great f'n year" list.

IGN.COM counted down the TOP 100 COMIC BOOK COVERS OF 2009 and yours truly landed 9 covers on the list. If that wasn't cool enough, 2 of those are in the top 5 and 1 of those took the #1 spot on the list. Seriously? WOW!!! I'm beyond flattered and glad to know that people out there are enjoying the work. Thanks to all of you for all the support and thanks to IGN for spreading the love. Here's to some more fun in 2010!

The Adventures of Bernard the World Destroyer 08

I HATE texting with a deep passion.

And a quick note. Go over to Zuda Comics and vote for a great up and coming artist JOHN BIVENS. He's got a great, gritty and graphic style. Fun stuff.

The Adventures of Bernard the World Destroyer 06

Cry of Doodie

Thanks for all the support in the first week of Bernards adventures. I'm on track to keep the daily updates going. Hopefully the lack of continuity doesn't turn you away. This is less about me telling a complete story and more about watching Bernard learn about our world... before he destroys it.

The Adventures of Bernard the World Destroyer 02

No farmer wants to see that on his land.

I love these warm-ups. Have a theme really gives me some focus and i'm able to just put pencil to paper and get and idea down without trying to come up with the perfect idea. These first few will have a bit of a story, then they'll go random until the end.
