Hermione Daily Sketch

Still playing with the Harry Potter world this morning. I really must wanted to experiment with the approach to Hermione's hair. I have always seen these characters in a more Roald Dahl universe than the glossy one we've come to know in the movies. Don't get me wrong, I love that version too, but there's something frayed about how I see the world in my head.

Talking about a frayed world reminds me of two different takes on one of my favourite books, James Thurber's "The 13 Clocks".

The original drawings by Marc Simont were very blocky and colourful, but I vastly prefer Ronald Searle's much more "frayed" take on them.

Be frayed, be very frayed.

Agree with you on the Dahl front. The first book really showed its influences, good old Roald being the biggest. I don't think the character descriptions escaped that particular flavour even up to the last book.

Think you've captured the frizzy hair perfectly, by the way and I do like the crackles coming off the wand.

If Rowling doesn't let you do the further adventures she's a fool; a straight up, muggle fool.
